Production Welder

Production welder of trailer parts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
o Welds or tack welds metal parts together, using spot welding gun or hand, electric, or gas welding equipment.
o Connects hoses from torch to tanks of oxygen and fuel gas, and turns valves to release mixture.
o Preheats work pieces preparatory to welding or bending, using torch.
o Fills cavities or corrects malformation in lead parts and hammers out bulges and bends in metal work pieces.
o Examines work piece for defects and measures work piece with straightedge or template to ensure conformance with specifications.
o Welds metal parts on production line, using previously set up gas- or arc-welding equipment.
o Guides electrodes, or torch and filler rod, along horizontal weld line at specified speed and angle to melt and deposit metal from filler rod or electrode onto work piece.
o May skip weld designated spots to secure work pieces for other welders
o Operates safety equipment and uses safe work habits while performing his job function.
o Detects faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notifies supervisors.
o Clamps, holds, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolts component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.
o Monitors the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts of warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of materials.
o Examines work pieces for defects and measures work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
Recognizes, set up, and operates hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
